Artisan re-vamped - from concept, rebrand, website, animations and beyond by Vicki

There comes a stage in everyone’s life when they fancy a change, whether that be a new house, car, career or even hair colour; let’s face it, things rarely stay the same forever and it would be a dull world if they did! Sometimes change is desirable and exciting, and sometimes it’s a scary prospect. It was with excitement and a sensible amount of caution that I, along with the rest of the Artisan team, undertook the rebranding and new website development project for Artisan.

As the Artisan team had been busy working to create Artisan 2014, it was only fitting that in the Marketing and Design teams we did our part to reflect all of the wonderful improvements and changes made in the new release. It’s been a perfect opportunity for us to refresh and rejuvenate the branding, website and marketing collateral and we’ve enjoyed doing so. You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve kept the lovely Artisan purple, just with a fresh new twist; we wanted the change in branding to reflect the updates made in the product, something great that’s just been made ever better!

Once the branding was complete, we then worked closely with Hydra Creative throughout the website design process. They’ve built our brilliant new website and CMS from scratch and we can’t praise them enough for their skills and knowledge, as well as the fact they’re such a friendly bunch of people to work with; the CMS created lets us keep the site content fresh and current quickly and easily, so that we can provide the best user experience for you, our website visitor. We’re really pleased with the final look of the site and hope that you really like it too.

If you’re reading this, chances are that you enjoy words, like me, but we wanted to cater to everyone that visited our site and inform them about Artisan in a way that they most enjoyed. So along with creating informative, yet concise text on our site we also worked alongside a professional animation agency, Revolution Productions. Having never created a promotional animation before this experience was new and at times quite time intensive, but really enjoyable and exciting to be part of. After clearly defining the key benefits that we wanted to communicate in the animation, the skilled team at Revolution Productions went about scripting, storyboarding and animating our video, with our input and feedback valued at every step of the way. I personally couldn’t be happier with the animation; I think it perfectly summarises Artisan as a product, and it does so in a fun, informative and interesting way... I’ve already watched it too many times to admit.

There’s still a lot of work to be done by us to successfully communicate to CAD designers how and why they’ll benefit so much from using Artisan as part of their design process everyday. But we’re hopeful that this exciting rebrand, website and animation is a pretty good place to start. We’re confident that it’s only onwards and upwards from here, as our reseller network continues to grow worldwide; 2014 by all accounts has been a great year for Artisan so far...
